Alwood was born in Japan and went to high school in Hawaii before heading to Seattle University for college ball. The 6-foot-5 right-hander has had some opportunities to start for the Redhawks and could have a chance to do so at the next level even though he mostly relieved as a senior in 2026. He has a four-pitch mix with a fastball that sat 93 mph and topped out at 98 this season. His low-80s slider is his go-to, but his full array of secondaries (slider, curve, changeup) combined to miss bats at a 53-percent rate in '26 and his increasing confidence in his improved delivery could give him a shot at a rotation to start out his pro career.
