SCOUT REPORT
Rutgers' regular catcher as a freshman in 2024, Natili has improved offensively and defensively in each of the last two years after transferring to Cincinnati. He ranked second in the Cape Cod League with six homers last summer and has continued to display some of the best power among the 2026 college catching crop this spring. He could become the Bearcats' highest pick since Ian Happ went ninth overall in 2015. Natili makes the most of his plus raw pop by launching balls in the air, and he has the ability to drive pitches out of the park to all fields. His right-handed swing can get too long, leading to swings and misses at an alarming number of fastballs, including in-zone heaters. He does mitigate that flaw with a relatively selective approach but always will be a power-over-hit guy. A well-below-average runner, Natili moves better behind the plate than he does on the bases. He's getting better as a receiver and blocker, leading to hope that he can become an average defender. His strong arm and leadership skills are assets.
