Kansas' best prep pitching prospect in 2023, Horn stood out more with his projectability than his present stuff and went to Nebraska after going undrafted. After allowing one run in two postseason starts as a sophomore, he entered 2026 as the Cornhuskers' Friday night starter and a potential third-rounder. He won't go that high after an up-and-down spring that included a demotion to the bullpen in the middle of the season, though he did rally down the stretch. Horn's fastball, slider and changeup all can grade as at least solid at their best but lack consistency. His heater sits at 92-94 mph and has climbed as high as 98 in short stints, though it has fairly ordinary shape and movement. He spins a tight 82-85 mph slider as his most effective pitch, while his fading mid-80s cambio misses the most bats. Horn also mixes in an upper-80s cutter and a low-80s curveball. He's athletic and has thrown strikes throughout his college career, though his fringy command leaves him vulnerable to home runs because his stuff isn't overpowering. He has the ingredients to become a No. 4 starter but may find more success as a reliever, where he could pare down his repertoire and throw harder in briefer outings.
