SCOUT REPORT
Sdao featured the best arsenal on Texas A&M's 2024 College World Series runner-up club, but injured his elbow in the Super Regionals and had Tommy John surgery that fall. He missed the entire 2025 season, but still drew seven-figure bonus offers from several big league teams before deciding to return to the Aggies. His stuff and command haven't been as sharp as they were during his freshman season, but he still offers enough upside to go in the top three rounds. Before his elbow gave out, Sdao operated with a 92-94 mph fastball that touched 97 with good carry up in the zone. This spring, his velocity has been down a tick or two and his release point has risen a few inches, so he's not missing as many bats with his heater. His best pitch is a sweeping low-80s slider that can overmatch both lefty and righty hitters, though it hasn't been as dominant in 2026. He has added a mid-70s curveball and a mid-80s cutter that both grade around average, surpassing his sinking mid-80s changeup that has regressed. Sdao has a wiry 6-foot-3 frame with room to add strength, and he generates his stuff with arm speed rather than effort. He throws strikes with all of his pitches and has demonstrated plus fastball command in the past. Now a redshirt junior, he offers intrigue as a mid-rotation lefty starter if he regains his previous fastball and slider.
